October 2026

Attach photos to any markup

October 15, 2026 -- Drag and drop a photo onto the drawing, paste from clipboard, or capture from your device camera. Attach the image to a markup with a room label and report-number tag.

Photo tray: capture now, place on the drawing later

October 15, 2026 -- Photos you capture or paste go into a tray so you can place them on the drawing whenever you are ready. Nothing is lost if you take a photo mid-session.

Photos shared with all collaborators in real time

October 15, 2026 -- In shared sessions, photos attached to markups are automatically available to every collaborator. Photos are stored by content hash, so the same image costs nothing to re-attach.

Photos survive PDF export and re-import

October 14, 2026 -- Photo pins and images export into the annotated PDF and are restored when you re-import that PDF. Photo report pages are included in the export.

Markup changes survive a reload in shared sessions

October 14, 2026 -- Changes you make in a shared session are cached locally. If you reload or lose connectivity, your work is restored automatically when the session reconnects.

Measure distances on PDF plans with scale calibration

October 13, 2026 -- A new dimension tool draws architectural dimension lines with witness marks. Calibrate once to a known distance on the plan and every dimension you draw reads the real-world measurement.

Apple Pencil input improvements

October 13, 2026 -- Several Apple Pencil fixes: the first tap after typing is no longer swallowed, callout boxes grow with their text, and panning no longer drops photo placements.

Double-click text to select a word

October 13, 2026 -- Double-clicking a word inside a text or callout markup now selects just that word, matching the standard text-editing behavior you expect.

iPad page-switch freeze fixed

October 12, 2026 -- A canvas pool fix eliminates a freeze that occurred when switching between pages on iPad. All dropped canvases are now released correctly.

Scroll to pan; Ctrl+scroll to zoom

October 9, 2026 -- Scrolling the drawing now pans it directly. Hold Ctrl (or Cmd on Mac) while scrolling to zoom without switching tools.

New viewer layout with side drawers

October 9, 2026 -- The viewer now uses a plan-chest layout with side drawers for Sheets, Markups, Data, and Tasks. The pen tray sits on the right edge so tools are always reachable.

Tap a section head to jump to the referenced view

October 8, 2026 -- PDF drawings that include section-head markers now support in-document navigation. Tap a section head and the viewer jumps to the referenced view automatically.

Redesigned review and approval workflow

October 7, 2026 -- The review panel is rebuilt with a cleaner rail, status badges on each item, and a prominent your-turn indicator that surfaces what needs attention.

September 2026

Auto input: Apple Pencil draws, fingers navigate

September 29, 2026 -- Once an Apple Pencil is detected, fingers automatically pan and zoom the drawing instead of drawing strokes. Switch back at any time, or use a mouse for standard pointer behavior.

Dimension line endpoints snap to PDF lines

September 29, 2026 -- When drawing dimension lines, endpoints snap onto edges and lines in the PDF drawing. Works with Apple Pencil, touch, and mouse.

Draw tools stay active between strokes

September 24, 2026 -- The selected draw tool now stays active between strokes on touch and Pencil input. You no longer have to re-tap the tool after each mark.

Hold to snap a stroke to the nearest shape

September 24, 2026 -- Hold the Apple Pencil steady at the end of a stroke to snap it to the nearest markup shape. Snapped callout anchors open for editing immediately.

August 2026

Smooth scroll zoom with focal-point tracking

August 24, 2026 -- Zooming with the scroll wheel now stays smooth and keeps the point under the cursor fixed. Pan clamps correctly so the drawing does not disappear when zoomed out.

Arrow keys nudge selected markups

August 13, 2026 -- Select one or more markups and press an arrow key to nudge them in any direction. Each keypress moves the selection by one point.

Markup styles remembered per tool

August 13, 2026 -- The color, line weight, and fill you set for a markup are remembered per markup type. Pick the same tool again and it opens with your last-used style.

Import annotations.json to restore markup data

August 13, 2026 -- Markup data exported as annotations.json can now be re-imported into the same drawing, closing the round-trip for teams sharing markup data as separate files.

Markup layers with a tree view

August 5, 2026 -- The markups list is replaced by a layered tree. Create layers, rename them, set one as active, and show or hide each layer independently. Layers export as real PDF optional content groups.

July 2026

Show or hide PDF layers

July 27, 2026 -- Layer visibility controls let you show and hide individual PDF layers in the drawing. Layer state is preserved across sessions.
